Agnitus : A Game For Kids with Special Needs
I've already introduced to you on my previous post (here) about Agnitus, a new application that provides a personalized learning program for your child or students, progressing in curriculum at each child's personal learning pace.
But, the cool thing about Agnitus is that, it is also designed to aid children who have ADD, autistic and struggles with learning disabilities which makes playing games from Agnitus app fun, easy to us and educational for any child. It will help them learn by getting entertained with the cool graphics, lots of activities/games to play, and will exercise them to concentrate while using the app. A perfect BFF app for us parents!
So here are some reason why Agnitus is so well suited for those with special needs (especially those on the autistic spectrum, those with ADD, or those who struggle with learning more generally)?
- They provide rich, multisensory feedback, instruction, and gentle guidance, all at the moment a child needs it most.
- They encourage parent participation, keeping parents and teachers informed of exactly what children are covering while allowing customized game access to meet children’s needs.
- Touch-enabled devices are found to be more intuitive and accessible at earlier ages, and are especially helpful for young children on the autistic spectrum, who can often have issues using keyboards and mice (Davis, Dautenhahn, Powell, & Nehaniv, 2010).
- They design games to draw children’s attention to the most important details related to any learning experiences, while using game play feedback to progressively reinforce a focus on goals and the play options available for realizing them. This very personalized approach to keeping children educationally engaged is especially critical to overcome attentional issues affecting many children with (and without) special needs.
