Rants and Raves of a Bum

Future generations of scientific experts will discover their passion in today’s middle school classrooms. As science and engineering fields become increasingly important, quality STEM education is needed to foster a passion for inquiry in young students. Including weather curriculum in middle school science classrooms is a great way to inspire curiosity, train critical thinking skills, and ignite an interest in the natural world.

Why Study the Weather?

There’s a reason why weather is a stereotypical conversation starter. It surrounds everyone, influencing daily life in ways that are easy to grasp. This makes it ideal for sparking a thirst to discover. Many children look outside and ask themselves where the wind comes from or what creates a thunderstorm. Providing answers to those questions allows students to use scientific reasoning to understand their own experiences. Students can connect the data from a local weather station to the rain or sun they see out the window or feel on their skin.

Weather in Your Classroom

Here are just a few ways you can incorporate the weather into STEM activities for middle school students:

  •       Set up a school weather station. Students can learn firsthand how data is collected and explore a set of observations that they experience right outside their classroom door.
  •       Use an online weather dashboard to view data from around the world. Track severe weather events as they happen and supplement lessons on global weather patterns with real measurements.
  •       Use weather observations to supplement topics in biology, chemistry, and physical science.
  •       Challenge students to think about how data is put to practical use in applied fields like meteorology and agriculture.

With a network of weather stations supplying comprehensive data from a local to global scale, Earth Networks can provide an invigorating addition to the science classroom. To learn more about how to enrich your school’s STEM curriculum using weather data, visit Earth Networks online or contact them by phone at 301-250-4000.

Lifestyle

Many people have the misconception that you need to have specific experience when it comes to starting your own business; that’s mostly false! While it’s true, you need some form of common sense, and an idea of how to manage money, your mindset is what matters the most. There are many kinds of businesses out there; you can’t expect them all to be run and started by experienced businessmen and women. It’s common that people find they want to start a business based on their own enjoyment of creativity, many online businesses sell the work of people’s passions and hobbies. It can be a great source of income if you have the time and skill to find an audience.

Your dreams

For those of you out there who look up to famous artists and which they could make a living off of their own talent, you absolutely can! Artistry is a job for many individuals, whether it be on the internet or underemployment. If you seek the freedom of your own creativity, going for the self-employed approach might be the right choice for you. It’s a lot riskier if you want to rely on it, but you’re able to work at your own pace for your own prices. The process has become a lot simpler since the introduction of the many online art sites, as they allow artists to display their works to others and offer some form of commission/donation service. You may not think of it as a reliable source, but if you can get yourself the right amount of exposure, you may someday find yourself living out your passion as a full-time job.

Something bigger

If working as an artist isn't your thing, or you want something bigger than a business from home, you might expect that you would need a large amount of money. While it’s true that starting up a business is expensive, it doesn’t mean that you need to rely on of the money that only you have. There are many ways out there that all business owners have taken advantage of, and you should too. Whether you need the money or not, having some extra cash to support your business upon starting up should be considered as a priority, as finding customers in the early days can be difficult.

First of all, some businesses might find themselves eligible for a grant from the government. It might not be much, but something to help you out as a small business owner can take you a long way. It’s important to consider how much you’ll actually have to pay for as the business runs on. Check out waspbarcode.com for some examples that you probably didn’t think of. If a grant isn't possible for you, you should seek out a lender instead. Check out smallbusinessloans.co for some information and possible loans that might appeal to you. A loan might be an essential step in starting up your business, many other businesses have relied on the same support, so there’s no shame in asking for the help. You just need to make sure you’ll be able to pay it back later on; else it could sink both you and your business.

You should never limit yourself in your mind; there’s every opportunity out there for you if you wanted to make something of your talents. Taking the time to research and find these options is the first step, don’t let a negative mindset hold you back.

If you are in your mid-30s, you can run out of young single girls in your area. Or, even if there are some women there, they are either taken or don’t want to start a serious relationship due to their interest being in general drawn to careers. All in all, finding a partner in your 30s may not be exciting at all. It is at times frustrating and time-consuming at its worst.

Alongside with https://pina-love.com/, we gathered some useful information on dating a single mom. So, dive in!

5 Reasons to Date Single Moms

1. They are experienced in dating and relationships, even if they have only had a sole major love story in their life, that being with their ex-husband or boyfriend. It makes things much easier for a new relationship.

2. Women enter their flourishing years after giving birth. Biologically, women become even closer to ultimate health and beauty after being pregnant thus going through an enormous hormonal revolution in their bodies. Science it is!

3. They don’t look for your biological material. As she had already given birth to her child or children, your potential date will stay away from the topic of you having your own children for a while. After being together for some time, you can get back to that.

4. They know good sex, which is the result of the aforementioned hormonal revolution. And while some women become somewhat indifferent to sex itself, most of them need more and better sex after becoming parents. And you know what it means.

5. They are caring and supportive. Well, because, after all, they are a mother already. If you lack care and tenderness in your life, single mothers will become a great choice for you.

How to Date a Single Mom: Major Tips

1. Leave her some space for her life and children. Being adults, you both probably have some life agenda, short- or long-term plans for future etc. It’s a great idea to demonstrate your affection and interest; helping her with household choirs and her kids may also work. Nonetheless, you need to let her have as much time as she needs for her and her family only. That’s one of the most important conditions of your dating success with single moms.

2. Meet her kids. If you are going to start something serious with this woman, you will probably need to get along with her children. Learn the story of her life, especially the reason why the kids don’t have a full-time father anymore. Based on what you learn, set a perfect mood and circumstances to meet her children. But don’t push too hard – it’s not likely her toddlers (or even teenagers) are going to like you from the start. Invest some time in it.

3. Don’t do the mistakes her ex-did. Dating single mothers take a lot of learning, but it pays off quickly. She is single for some good reason, obviously. Aside from the death of her spouse, reasons are probably related to some unhealthy relationship patterns, sexual infidelity, financial arguments or so. Find out more about the reason and avoid repeating the same mistakes thus doing her life a living hell.

In the end, dating a 30-something single mom can be a lot of fun! Don’t be afraid to invest some time in making this relationships work. Good luck!

It’s been three years since I’ve started to try eating healthy, and I’ve been using my blender for making juices, smoothies, and different types of puree.  My current blender makes too much noise for me to bear and its power usage is very costly! When I’m making some smoothies, the final blended product is not consistently smooth or not properly grinded either, and still consists of those huge chunks—something I don’t like seeing in my smoothies. Obviously, it is called a smoothie not a chunky! The best option for this situation? Get the perfect blender! Try ordering the Oster Ball Mason Jar Blender from Takatack.com!

blender

I asked my friends where I could find a perfect blender. Every one of them suggested Takatack.com. When I searched the website, the first item I found was the Oster Ball Mason Jar Blender. I knew the moment I saw it that this is the right blender for me!

I can easily afford this amazing blender at just P2,600. The well-made blade on the blender grinds and crushes through ice easily! Remember my rant about those chunky unground fruit? Well, say no more! I can now make the smoothest of the smooth smoothies! Extending my thanks to Takatack.com for solving my blender needs. Couldn’t blend without you!

Tips To Survive Another Year Of Strict Budgeting And Saving Money

Eat healthier, get more exercise, save more money, take up a new hobby – it’s the time of the year to make that list of self-improvements again.  If your New Year’s resolution involves strict budgeting, there are countless of ways to make your funds work the way you need it to.
It’s more than just saving money, because the real question is, how?  Global Fintech company Home Credit has six tips that you may consider when doing your budget plan.

1. Track your spending

Ask for receipts whenever possible so you can log your expenses every day.  You’re not even required to log them in an Excel spreadsheet (but if that works for you, go ahead!) –just keep it organized so you can review it anytime.  Remember, your goal here is to be aware of your daily spending habits so you’ll know the things you can live without.

2. The Slush fund

Be it an emergency or a car repair, there are high chances of encountering these unfortunate incidents.  Keep them from running you into debt by having your emergency fund in an account that’s easily accessible for you.  But use them only for emergencies!

3. Focus on one thing

A house?  A Car?  Or just start little like a new appliance or a gadget?  The point is to determine one specific goal and focus all your efforts on obtaining it.
You can’t have many financial goals and try to achieve them all simultaneously without draining your other funds.  Prioritize one objective and figure out how you are going to get there.  If you think this means you’ll have to trim your expenses, you’re right.

4. The fun fund: cut down on it

There are just some days when you can’t resist the impulse to buy something out of boredom.  Either that or you just choose to spend on unnecessary things when you can just opt for a cheaper—rather, simpler way of living.  Once you have tracked your spending and found what you don’t need, try to gradually—if not immediately—take it out of your system.

5. The list

List, list, and list.  You’ve heard it again and again to emphasize its importance.  If you have a list of even the smallest things you need to buy, you’ll less likely spend on impulse purchases and only stick to what you’re looking for.  Of course, it’s a totally different issue if you decide to buy something else instead of the one on your list!

6. Installments

If you’ve already come up with a budget plan, but think that the monthly costs might still be heavy for you, then you might find it hard to do one-time big-time payments.  Rather than one all-out spending, how about pay in installments to make your monthly costs lighter?  Imagine paying for them and still having enough money!
It’s possible, even if you have no credit card.  With Home Credit, you can buy yourself a reward and pay for it through installments – at 0% interest rate.  Through their simple application process and fast loan approval, you can afford the things you want, and still, have a spare budget to add to your other funds.  It only requires your two valid IDs, a filled-out application form, and 20 minutes of your time to get approved.

Budgeting isn’t just about living the "matipid" lifestyle, as we Filipinos like to call it.  It’s more about handling your funds wisely by setting your priorities straight and maintaining your discipline to stay within your limits.  And if you followed our advice to set your focus on one thing, Home Credit’s installment promos will make sure that you’ll get it in a budget-friendly way.

It seems that the concept of picking your dream home now is far from the reality of the situation. Of course, you'll have to live (and purchase) within your means, but when it comes to the ideal home, it stands to reason that you shouldn't skimp on the important things. But, the modern housing market, combined with inflation, pay rises being frozen, and just a general feeling of uneasiness with the state of affairs in the western world, instinct should prevail, and we should batten down the hatches and purchase a home quickly so that we are secure. And when it comes to purchasing a home, there are so many things to consider, of course, but should you pick a home that suits you right now, or should you pick one of the stands the test of time? And what are the factors that can swing the benefits of a home your way?

Your Financial Situation
It always depends on how much money you have available to you. Depending on your age, your career, and so forth, there are always going to be obstacles in the way. Your living situation, such as if you have a family to provide for, is going to limit your spending. Because the statistics of showing that people are leaning towards renting because they don't have the opportunity to purchase a home, or they simply don't want to, means that if you are looking to buy a home, you have a lot more choice.

Your Age
There are so many people considering downsizing for retirement, meaning that if you are in a younger age range, your choice is, again, varied. Because your age has such an impact on the mortgage you can acquire, but younger you are, the better. So if you are in your twenties, while logic would dictate that you don't need to purchase a home, now is the best time for you to do so.

Your Career
Put simply, for those that are self-employed, it means a lot more hoops to jump through to acquire a mortgage. So, for those people who are self-employed, they are better off saving up a bigger deposit. So this is a catch-22, if you have more money in being self-employed, you can say that more money. But it depends on your lifestyle choices, and if you want to give up your self-employed freelance career for a job that pays more money in the short term, but isn't satisfying enough for you in a professional sense? This is something many millennials struggle with right now because they are being told by the generations about what they need to purchase a home, but they need to weigh this up with a feeling of purpose in life. Happiness vs purchasing a home is usually a no-brainer.

And so when you look at picking a home, these factors will always show themselves up. It's a very difficult situation to be in, especially when you are looking for a way to live within your means right now. If you need to purchase a home, it's always beneficial for you to pick a house for your current living situation, because you are then up on the property ladder. Yes, there are still some hoops to jump through even on your 2nd, 3rd, or 4th property, but in getting one home behind you, it's that investment that can set you up for the future.

Hair weaves are one of the most commonly used wigs nowadays. It is great for those people who simply want to add some length and volume to their hair. Just like the other wigs, you experiment on it to achieve the style and unique look you need.

Hair weaves are made of either a human hair or synthetic hair. As we all know, synthetic hair is usually cheaper than the human hair. In general, synthetic hair is not recommended for full hair weaves because it doesn't move or bounce the way a human hair does. It can be worn for a day or for several weeks, depending on which type you wear. Both human and synthetic hair weaves are available in many different colors and styles like loose wave bundles or deep wave bundles.

Check these fab hair bundles:

Wearing hair weaves can lower its maintenance especially if you have achieved the style, color and texture that you want for your hair. With hair weaves or wigs in general, you lessen the chance of damaging your hair. It is best to think about what you want before buying your hair weaves and know how to take care of it properly so that it lasts longer and can enjoy wearing it for a long time.

Wigs has evolved over the years, it has become an industry that now caters not only for those who have hair issues but also to those who wants to use it as an everyday accessory. Wigs are a great way to get creative and be unique without damaging your hair. Let me give you a basic guide to everything you need to know about wigs and extensions.

Here are the different types of extension applications:

1. Tape-In Hair Extensions

Tape hair extensions are pre-taped and then taped/glued together on either side of your own hair. Usually, you would need a hairdresser to apply tape-ins for you because it needs to be aligned with the roots and they are applied to a tool that heats up the glue.

2. Sew-In Hair Extensions/Weaves

Weave hair is applied by braiding the natural hair into a cornrow first, and then the extensions are attached using a needle and thread and threaded into the braid/cornrow. It is used for people with thicker hair because of the way they are applied. The weave application is a very long process, can make you feel very heavy and uncomfortable. This method is also applied by a hairdresser as it is a very difficult application that needs to be sewn-in by a professional.

A lot of hair weave websites sells different type of weaves that you can choose from:

  • Peruvian Weave
  • Indian Weave
  • Malaysian Weave
  • Eurasian Weave
  • Brazilian Weave

brazilian weave

3. Fusion & Pre-Bonded Hair Extensions

Fusion hair extensions are bonded to natural hair using different adhesives such as glue. Applying pre-bonded hair extensions take approximately 3-4 hours to apply and are also applied by a hairdresser.

4. Micro-Link Hair Extensions

Micro link hair extensions are also known as microbead or micro- loop hair extensions. These hair extensions are applied by looping the extensions through the natural hair. You then clamp it down with a special tool/clamp, heat, and a metal bead (or ring).

5. Wigs & Hair Pieces

Wigs and hairpieces come in different types and hairstyles. From short to long, straight or curled, human hair or synthetic. There's a lot to choose from. Easy to use and not damaging to hair because you can just put it on top of your hair.

6. Clip-in Hair Extensions

Clip-in hair extensions, come in a strand of contoured pieces, some long, and some can be cut shorter, with clips that are sewn into the strand. The clips are sewn-into the hair before receiving them, making it ready to use, and easy to simply “clip” the pieces to your natural hair, all on your own! Easy to use and less damaging, that is why it is one of most popular hair extension methods.
